I have been trying to write weekly menus every week, not only does it save me money it saves me a ton of time. I use to be looking at the pantry and the fridge around 4 pm everyday trying to figure out what I was going to make for dinner. Now that I wrote out weekly menus I also include several desserts for each week also.

That is why I was so excited to get the opportunity to get a chance to read and review One Dirty Bowl by Christine Dymock. This cookbook is absolutely awesome and is full of great recipes that I can’t wait to try.

Here is the recipe for the Chocolate Chocolate Chip Bread. I made it and my whole family loved it.
Chocolate Chocolate Chip Bread

  • ¼ cup oil
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • ¼ cup sour cream
  • 1 cup flour
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¾ tsp baking soda
  • 3 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips
  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a large loaf pan and set aside.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the oil, sugar, brown sugar, and eggs for 3 minutes.
  3. Add the vanilla, sour cream, flour, salt, baking soda, and cocoa. Mix well
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and sprinkle with the mini chocolate chips.
  5. Bake for 50-55 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  6. Makes one loaf

Review: I love how the cookbook has everyday ingredients that you already have in your cabinets. They also don’t have a ton of ingredients in the recipes. I also love cookbooks with pictures of what the recipe turns out like, I have a tendency to make a recipe for some reason if it shows a picture of the recipe. I made the Chocolate Chocolate Chip Bread I only had to use one bowl for all of the ingredients and I had it in the oven in less than ten minutes and it tasted amazing. I can’t wait to make all of the other recipes.
