My kids are a little past the baby food stage, but that doesn’t mean I have stopped feeding it to them! I have a secret to share, when my kids are really busy, or if I am concerned with what they have been eating I add baby food to smoothies to ease my mind and get nutrients into their growing bodies!
Pure Spoon sent me a few flavors of their pureed high pressurized, cool temperature organic foods to try and these were great for adding nutrients into growing bodies via a yummy smoothie!
Let me tell you a little more about Pure Spoon.
Pure Spoon is available in 9 flavors;
Spinach, Pear, & Banana
Sweet Potato & Apples
Creamy Avocado & Pears
Carrots & Zucchini
Blueberry, Banana &Apples
Apples & Broccoli
Butternut Squash, Apples & Oats
Creamy Avocado & Apples
I loved the recyclable plastic containers that Pure Spoon comes in. These are so handy! They are reclosable, durable and contain a generous 4 ounces of pureed food.
I sampled each of the flavors I was sent. They were good, like better than the leading little glass jar brand good! My favorite was Simply Carrots. So I made a smoothie for the kids with this one.
To make a Vanilla Carrot Smoothie you will need:
3 ounces of Pure Spoon Simply Carrots baby food
3 ounces of yogurt, (vanilla works best)
a splash of vanilla
3 ounces of 2% milk
a few ice cubes
Simply combine the ingredients in your blender and blend for about 20 seconds or until the ice is completely crushed.
My kids really loved this. I loved how easy it was to whip up something nutritious and healthy for the kids to fuel their growing bodies!
If I had a baby, you can bet that I would be feeding it Pure Spoon!
