National Cereal Day

Today is National Cereal Day, cereal is the most popular breakfast food in America.

49% of American’s start their day with a bowl of cereal.

When you go down the cereal isle it is overwhelming how many different cereals there are to choose from.

Some of my favorite cereals are:

Cinnamon Toast Crunch

Golden Grahams

Corn Pops

Cornflakes with bananas and a little sugar

What are some of your favorite cereals?

  • 2 cups egg substitute or 8 eggs

  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Mist 12 muffin cups with cooking spray. Cook turkey bacon as noted on package. Cut the bacon up into ½ inch pieces and set aside. Add oil and vegetable into skillet and cook for 5 minutes. In large bowl add eggs, milk, and parsley until well mixed. Stir in bacon, cheese and vegetables. Week 16 Frumpy to Fabulous-Choose Your Morning Cereal Wisely

Welcome to Week 16 of the Frumpy to Fabulous series-this week it is choose your morning cereal wisely.

Make sure you read the labels on cereal boxes a lot of them are hiding extra sugars and artificial ingredients.

Here are some suggestions for cereal:

  • Cheerios
  • Shredded Wheat
  • Fiber One
  • Grape Nuts

This is an article of what Cooking Light recommends for cereal.

I also found this great article that gives you tips on how to choose a healthy breakfast cereal.

I have paying more attention lately when I buy cereal. I like the sugary cereals that my kids like but I have been looking more at the labels. Some of my favorites are Multi Grain Cheerios and Raisin Bran.

I hope the challenge is going well for you and have a great week.
