Time For A Fall Refresh? Giving Your Lifestyle A Seasonal Boost

Stay Connected

With today’s busy lifestyles, where you’re juggling kids, a job, and life in general, it can be difficult to find a happy balance by stepping out of your comfort zone. The idea of changing anything in your routine can seem like a challenge and quite daunting, as you don’t want to upset what’s (sort of) working for you and your family. However, by refusing to make changes, you’re at risk of becoming stagnant in your lifestyle, which can lead to unhappiness. The following are some suggestions on how to give your life a lift and embrace the changes in time for fall and winter ahead.

Refresh Through Renovation

There’s nothing quite like a coat of fresh paint to lift a room and to turn your frown upside down. Reorganising and renovating any rooms in your home will breathe new life into your home, and the whole family will appreciate it. If you’re stuck as to where to start; take a look online for some interior inspiration and ideas. Write a list of the areas in your home that need the most attention, and give yourself a project (and a budget) to work on. You might want to look into small dollar loans so that you can get the work done that’s needed, before the cold really sets in; it’s worth working out your repayment plan beforehand, and being realistic with what you want to achieve. Before you’ve even started to decorate, the excitement of the task ahead and the results will give your mood a boost.

Clean And Clear-Out The Old

Try and find a few hours, or if you’re lucky, a whole day, to go through your home and declutter. Have boxes and bags at the ready, give yourself a target to fill them, and be strict with yourself. Take whatever you haven’t worn or used (and that holds no extreme sentimental value) for the past six months to a year, and get rid of it. There are bound to be toys, utensils, homewares and clothing that no longer have a place in your home. Take as much stuff to the charity shop as possible, and correctly dispose of the rest. It’ll be a cathartic experience for you, and it’ll help you achieve hygge in your interior space.

Breath-In That Crisp Air

Whatever the weather, aim to get outside in nature at least once a day. Taking a stroll (or a jog if you’re feeling energetic) will clear your mind and presses your reset button so that you can tackle the stresses of everyday life with fresh ideas and thoughts. Exercise and fresh air also help to ensure you fall asleep with ease, and the quality of your sleep will improve; everyone feels better after a great night of shut-eye. If you don’t have the time to grab to yourself to get outside and do exercise; grab those kids, or the dog, and get to the park! You’ll be enjoying all the physical activities, fresh air, and making some great memories in the meantime. Changes to your life don’t have to feel scary or unachievable; try to see them as a focus towards your inner wellbeing and a lift in your lifestyle.
