week 17

Welcome to Week 17 of the Frumpy to Fabulous series this week habit change is to eat breakfast within 30 minutes of waking up.

A well balanced breakfast of lean proteins, healthy fats and complex carbohydrates boosts metabolism, provides energy and helps you avoid binging all day. When you eat breakfast within 30 minutes of rising refuels your mind, body and spirit.

Here are some examples of a good breakfast to start your day:

  • whole grain cereal and skim milk or unsweetened almond milk
  • scrambled egg whites and whole wheat toast
  • oatmeal and scoop of protein powder with berries
  • whole wheat toast and almond butter drizzled with honey
  • whole wheat french toast
  • greek yogurt with fresh berries and walnuts
  • protein pancake(GetJosette.com/en/recipes)

I hope you are enjoying this series as much as I am. I have a pinterest page set up for the Frumpy to Fabulous series.  If you have missed any of the weeks you will be able to find the posts there. Find it here.

I can honestly say I did this this morning. I know I need to, but most of the time I’m hoping I can fall back to sleep, hahaha

Starting tomorrow I’m going to try to start eating breakfast within 30 minute of getting up! Oh and almond butter drizzled with honey sounds soooo good!!!

Good Tip! We have been trying to eat breakfast within 45 minutes of waking up (Sometimes the baby needs fed!) but I’m not sure it has been doing anything. Now if I could only find more time to exercise! We have also been trying to eat healthier. In the mornings we eat a smoothie with an organic apple and banana and other fruits that we have with organic juice and homemade yogurt! Yum. Another one of our favorites to go with our smoothies is a piece of toast with cheese melted topped with some avocado!

Those recipes are great! This one’s hard for me though since I get up early – I usually only eat breakfast like an hour or two after waking up! Maybe I’ll have a banana or fruit earlier :)

I’m bad about eating breakfast. It’s my favorite meal of the day and I could eat it 3 times per day. My faves are eggs. I’m dying to try the Rollie Eggmaster as weird as it looks.

Another great idea is 1/2 a grapefruit! I can handle mine unsweetened, but if you need a little sweetener Agave, Splenda or Truvia are great!
