Week 37 Frumpy to Fabulous-Shop with a List

Welcome to Week 37 of the Frumpy to Fabulous series. This week’s habit change is to Shop with a List.

People say don’t go grocery shopping when you are hungry but you also should have a list when you go shopping. Without a list it is really easy to go over budget and buy a lot of food you didn’t even plan on buying.

Here are some tips:

  • Make a weekly meal plan
  • make a daily meal plan
  • stay on the outside perimeter at the supermarket
  • avoid the inner isles of the store
  • if you eat the peel buy organic
  • choose grass fed and hormone free meat

You can print  a clean eating grocery list here.

I hope you are enjoying the Frumpy to Fabulous series. If you have missed any previous weeks you can check them all out on the Frumpy to Fabulous Pinterest Board.

Thanks for this great post. I have been shopping with a list since I had my first son. I always have to make sure that I don’ t forget something as well as to insure I don’t over spend.

Another great idea! I try to be good about meal planning/making lists, but sometimes it all just gets away from me. I need to be better about it!!

You are right, if I don’t take a list I end up spending at least $50 more than I planned and we end up with a lot of extra stuff.

These are all great tips! I love making a weekly meal plan and always try to do meals where I can reuse something. Like extra pasta or sauce 🙂

I love this! Things I definitely NEED to do, but don’t

I honestly don’t go shopping without a list. I would be certain to forget something!

I vary if I shop with a list or not. Though with our healthy eating kick I am buying way better then I ever have and loving it.

i write a generic list, but not for a meal plan. These people will use some of the ingredients up big time. I do keep my dry and nonperishable goods in my room though.
