Welcome to Week 40 of the Frumpy to Fabulous this week’s habit change is portion control.

Females require fewer calories than males. Athletes and fitness enthusiasts require more fuel than those who don’t exercise.

Here are some great tools to help with portion control:

  • measuring cups
  • measuring spoons
  • electronic food scale
  • use smaller bowls & plates-dinner plates

    Portion control is the one thing I struggle with, so I always use measuring spoons and a kitchen scale.

    My sister was really over weight and one of her biggest struggles was portion control. Once she learned to do that she lost weight dramatically!!

  • I have to definitely agree with portion control but even with smaller bowls I still can’t help myself. I have to go back and get another serving especially if it tastes good. Great tips nonetheless for those with better self-control than me.

    In the past, when I lost weight with Weight Watchers, portion control was a big thing. It really worked and I found that a food scale was critical in my success. I keep telling my friends who are trying the Paleo diet that you CAN’T eat as much Paleo approved food as you want. You HAVE to incorporate portion control and count points or calories to achieve maximum results.
